Bookshelf....Before/After/After After

BEFORE:
This was the bookcase before. I got it at an auction in Calera for $30. Its pretty dirty and dingy (sp?).

AFTER:
This is the bookshelf after a new coat of fresh white paint has been applied, its been wiped down and cleaned!

AFTER AFTER:
This is the same bookshelf after my mom and I placed fabric in the back of the shelves to give it some color! It was looking kinda boring with just a white background. This really made it pop! I LOVE it! I really need to thank my mom because she helped me put the new coat of paint on it and take the time to put the fabric in the back of it (very time consuming). Thanks G! I hope Easton loves it as much as we do!

4D Ultrasound- Take 2

Sweet little Angel!

He was playing with his feet! He had one little foot all the way up at his face!

Looks like little Easton might be a thumb sucker.

Here he is rubbing his little eyes.

Amazing how flexible they are! Here he is with his big toe touching his nose! He loves staring at those feet! Kevin was in disbelief that that was his toe at his face. He didn't think he could put his foot up that high.

This must be his unhappy face! =( I wouldn't be surprised if he poked himself in the eye with his toes and that's why he is upset. Silly boy!

At this visit, December 2, 2011, he was weighing 3#s 12ozs, his HR was 148 and he was head down. We cant wait to meet this good looking little man!!!

31 Weeks

This week I had what is my 32 week Doctor's appointment. I met one of the other doctors in the practice this time. I also start going every 2 weeks now instead of once a month (Cant believe it!). While at this appointment, his heart rate was a strong 148 bpm. She had trouble keeping the Doppler on him because he was moving around so much. =)

Also on this day, after my visit with the doctor, I got to go and repeat the 4D ultrasound! (Since he didn't cooperate last time). According to the ultrasound tech he is measuring 3#s 12ozs!! BIG boy! He is also head down, where he should be. We got some much better pictures this time! Check out my next post for those AMAZING photos!

He's about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month. He's getting so big, he's probably crowding your lungs. (You got the right!)

Your baby at 31 weeks:
He's going through major brain and nerve development.
Eye development, too. His irises now react to light!
All five of his senses are in working order.

30 Weeks

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Pregnancy Highlights of Week 30:
Maternity Clothes:
Anything stretchy and comfortable. I'm lucky I get to wear scrubs at my job.
Best Moment this week: Putting all of his furniture in its right place. It really feels like its not far away now. The room has more function and flow.

Gender: It's a boy!
Movement: All the time! Love it! Kevin and I were lying on the couch and Kevin's head was next to my belly and Easton kicked him in the head multiple times. haha!

Food Craving: Don't know if you can count this as a food, but crunching on ice has become an obsession of mine lately! I cant get enough of it.
What I miss: A margarita every now and then.

Sleep: About the same. That awful RLS and legs going numb.

What I am looking forward to: Retaking our 4D Ultrasound.
Belly Button: IN
Symptoms: Some trouble bending over, especially at work. It just takes the breath right out of you.

Your 15.2- to 16.7-inch, 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby continues to grow.
His skin is getting smoother.
But his brain is getting wrinklier -- to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
He's now strong enough to grasp a finger!

4D Ultrasound- Take One

On November 11 we went in to do our 4D Ultrasound. Since Easton wasn't very cooperative when we went at 19 weeks for the gender ultrasound, I decided to drink a coke (which I don't normally do) to see if I could get him moving around. Well, it looks like even caffeine cant roust this baby up. =) He was measuring at 2#s 8ozs (right where he should be) and his heart rate was 133. We did get some good head shots but he had his arm and the umbilical cord in front of his face the whole time. Since he wasn't very cooperative again the ultrasound tech said that we could come back on December 2 to try again (Take two) for free. We still got to see his face though! Check it out!!

This is the only picture that we are not sure about. I'm usually pretty good at reading these ultrasound pictures, but this one stumps us. We think its his legs and just reassuring us that it is a boy. Not sure though.... =)

29 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights of Week 29:

Maternity Clothes: Anything stretchy and comfortable. Love my yoga pants and tops.

Best Moment this week: Getting our glider and ottoman in that we ordered.

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: All the time! Love it! Its such a neat feeling.

Food Craving: Strawberries and chocolate sauce still!

What I miss: Being able to sleep on my back.

Sleep: I am starting to toss and turn more now. One leg will start to go numb and tingle so I flip to the other side, That helps for a minute or two then it comes back, so I flop to the other side. But it doesn't start until about 2 o'clock in the morning.

What I am looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment.

Belly Button: IN

Symptoms: My legs falling going numb and having RLS! ugh!

Your baby's the size of a squash!
Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, he weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but he's still got a ways to go -- can you believe he'll triple in weight before birth?

28 Weeks Preggo

28 Weeks (Month 7) Starting 3rd Trimester!!!

Maternity Clothes: Yes, I finally bought some maternity jeans about a week ago. Much better than my jeans I was wearing.

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Mostly early in the morning when I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home from work. He doesn't move around that much when I am working, I guess because I'm constantly moving.

Food Craving: Strawberries with Chocolate sauce! Yum!

What I miss: Being able to take a HOT shower!

Sleep: doing well in this department. I only get up to use the bathroom once a night, if that.

What I am looking forward to: Doing our 4D Ultrasound!!

Belly Button: IN- and I hope it stays there!

Symptoms: None really

Your baby is the size of a Chinese Cabbage. Putting on layers of fat, your baby now weighs in around 1.5 to 2.5 pounds and measures about 13.6 to 14.8 inches.
He's starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
His lungs are mature enough that he'd probably survive if he was born now.

A Wall of a Different Color!

BEFORE:

I cant even begin to explain what a process it was to get the whole room taped and painted, due to all of the chair railing on the bottom. It looks GREAT now that we are done and I can look back, but it was quite a job. Thanks to future daddy and my mom!

DURING:

AFTER:

It may be hard to tell, but the bottom part of the chair railing is actually a shade darker than the top. Putting the darker color on the bottom is said to draw your eye upwards. (Little painting tip I picked up). The colors match his bedding perfectly! It took some getting used to because it looked very bright when it first hit the walls. But now I am just IN LOVE with it. I just love color!

27 Weeks

I went to the doctor this week for my regular check-up plus my glucose screening. It was rough from the get go that morning before my appointment. All I had to eat was 2 pieces of cheese toast and some water. Anybody who knows me, knows that OJ is a must have thing for me. I LOVE it and can never get enough. Unfortunately that is one of the things I could not have, obviously, before my test. It was very hard to resist when I opened that fridge door for the cheese. =) I was a good girl and said no! I got to the doctor's office and they gave me a very sugary orange drink. Alot like a thicker Sunkist to me. I didn't think that it was bad at all. I was glad that my mom was able to go with me to help the time pass while we waited for that hour. Also while we waited, they put us in a room to see my OBGYN.

Easton and I are still right on target! I'm measuring where I should be and his HR was in the 150s. (after that drink he was jumping around all over the place). The other good thing is that I PASSED! No gestational diabetes for me! However when they called to tell me my results they also told me that my blood count was a little low and that I would need to start on an Iron pill. So far I haven't really had any of the side affects that come with taking Iron supplements.

This is the last week for my 2nd trimester! Its SO hard to believe that we are moving in to the last phase of pregnancy. WOW!

In this week, my baby weighs almost 2 pounds!! Like a head of Cauliflower. And is about 14 1/2 inches long with legs extended.

He's practicing inhaling and exhaling with his rapidly developing lungs.
It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And his brain will keep on getting more complex.

His Bedding

When it came to Easton's bedding I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted. As I started to look there weren't very many themed crib sets and rooms that I wanted to go with. So my next option was to go with patterned bedding. My one stipulation with any bedding that I picked was that I wanted it to have lots of color to it. While I do think that the pale blues and creams are very sweet, I knew I wanted something with brighter colors. I really LOVE lots of color in the stuff that I do. The bedding that I fell in love with was this one. (This first picture is a little blurry.)

The colors are turquoise, lime green, brown, yellow, navy, and white with paisley. Quite an array of colors. I do just love how bright it is.

Its hard to see, but the inside of the bumpers is green and white gingham. And the crib sheet is brown with cream polka dots.

All washed, clean, and ready for a baby!! It wont be empty for too much longer. =)

26 Weeks!

At 26 Weeks he is the length of an english hothouse cucumber! (who comes up with these comparisons? haha!)
His eyes are forming, and his eyes will soon start to open.
And his eyelashes are now grown, too.
He's getting his immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
He's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.

A Bed for Easton!

I ordered his bed online from JCPenny. Kevin and I went and picked it up the Sunday it came in. We couldn't wait to put it together. So much so that we put it together before we even painted the room. Kevin is so good at being a handy man. I hope Easton takes after his Dad with putting things together. These are a couple of pictures I took of him putting the bed together.

Here is the finished product!! Isn't it beautiful?? The hubby/future Daddy did a wonderful job! Now just to get a mattress and put the bedding on and this baby boy has a place to sleep. (Yes, I'm sure you noticed that the walls are a different color in this picture. I didn't get a finished pic of the bed before we painted.)

25 Weeks

Here we are at 25 Weeks! Happy Halloween! I hadn't really thought about what I would wear, if anything, for Halloween. One of my friends, and coworker, had texted me a picture of this shirt and when I saw it I knew I HAD to have it! So for this year I was a skeleton. A pregnant skeleton that is. =). I'm just in love with how cute this shirt is!! Hopefully ill be able to wear it again someday. (Assuming it fits.)

Your baby's the size of an eggplant!

He's enjoying his new sense of equilibrium -- he now knows which way is up and which is down.
He's growing more fat and more hair too!

24 Weeks

24 Weeks!! (M0nth 6)! Somehow I forgot week 23.

Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week he gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.
His see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.

22 Weeks

Your baby's the size of a papaya!

Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).

21 Weeks

Your baby's the size of a banana!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces. Wow seems like just yesterday we had an apple seed! =) Now our little boy is as big as a banana! And not far from 1 pound. Amazing!

20 Weeks- The halfway point!

THE HALFWAY MARK IS HERE!! 20 Weeks (Month 5) Wow time flies when you're having a baby....Or something like that. Our little Easton is halfway through baking. In one of my last belly posts (18 weeks) I was unsure of his movements. Boy, has that changed. I feel this little guy flipping, kicking, and jumping around in my belly ALL the time. It really is the most amazing feeling. Also, when we are just sitting on the couch, to look down and see your tummy jump and thump is a real reality shock that there is a little person inside me. Its exciting yet scary all at the same time. So far I am still wearing my same jeans, though they are getting a little snug.

Your baby's the size of a cantaloupe!
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches.
He's got working taste buds.
Now, he's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.
