6 years of Service...

This picture was taken when Kevin graduated basic training in San Antonio, TX at Lackland AFB.- 2004

Well, after 6 years of service in the United States Air Force my husband is being honorably discharged for completing his enlistment. He served as a Fireman. I am SO very proud to have a husband who has served in our military. I think that that is something very special and important because there aren't many men, in this day and age, that can say this. However I am lucky, my husband was never deployed over seas. (Luckily, there wasn't as much of a demand for firefighters at that time.)
I made a scrapbook for Kevin of when he was in basic training and these are a few pages from it. The one of the left is him and his dad. The top picture is actually his dad's military picture. His dad was also a fireman in the Air Force.

After basic training, for 6 weeks, it was on to his Tech School/Fire School for 16 weeks. This was in San Angelo, TX at Goodfellow AFB. This was such a hard thing to go through, not having your honey there with you for such long periods. But every relationship, I think, needs to be tested with something like this. In the end, I am SO happy and proud and there is nothing I would have done differently. I mailed a camera to Kevin in one of my letters so that I could have some pictures to scrapbook with.
This is by far my favorite picture that he took. He was telling me that he forgot to turn the flash on, and that he thought the picture didn't turn out well. But the first time I saw it I thought, wow I love that its just the silhouette of the engine and the firefighter with the sunset in the background!
On another note, there are still many men and women serving and fighting over seas. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers!

Anniversary Evening

On our Anniversary evening we decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants, Joe's Italian! They have some of the best Italian food there. If you have never been, you really should try it. Call me up because Kevin and I are always wanting to go.
I got the chicken fettuccine with broccoli and Kevin got this special kind of lasagna. Very yummy!
The best part was this... (What seemed like a pound) was this giant piece of Zebra cake. Inside the restaurant they have a dessert window, which just tempts you the whole time you're there. We couldn't resist. =) In the background you can see Kev's huge piece of Tiramisu.
After arriving home, very full, we decided to have some champagne. I just happen to have some in there from New Years. I, being the sentimental person that I am, decided that of course we should drink it from our toasting flutes that we used at our wedding. =) I'm a sap, I know. Ha! What a Wonderful 2 years...

Until the Day After Forever...5/3/2008

"Ill Love you until the day after forever"... was a saying that we used on our Wedding Day, 2 YEARS AGO today! I cant believe that we have already been married for 2 wonderful years. We met on a blind date on December 15, 2000. Yep, that's right, we will be together 10 years this December. WOW! (It sounds crazy coming out of my mouth, that's a long time). The wedding was beautiful! The ceremony was held at Meadow Brook Baptist Church, off of 280, and the reception followed at the Carraway Davie House. After the wedding we took a week long Honeymoon in the Grand Caymans (I cant wait until the day when we can go back) Ill post again after we have our Anniversary evening. Just wanted to be able to post some pictures, on our day, from that day 2 years ago! =)
These 2 pictures were from our 1st Anniversary. I didn't have a blog a year ago, so I thought I would share this little snippet from then. On the left is the top of our cake, cake cutter, champagne flutes from the wedding, and then behind are the flowers that he gave me. After eating our bite of cake we decided to smush it in each other's face since we were sweet, and didnt smear it, on our wedding day.
