4D Ultrasound- Take One

On November 11 we went in to do our 4D Ultrasound. Since Easton wasn't very cooperative when we went at 19 weeks for the gender ultrasound, I decided to drink a coke (which I don't normally do) to see if I could get him moving around. Well, it looks like even caffeine cant roust this baby up. =) He was measuring at 2#s 8ozs (right where he should be) and his heart rate was 133. We did get some good head shots but he had his arm and the umbilical cord in front of his face the whole time. Since he wasn't very cooperative again the ultrasound tech said that we could come back on December 2 to try again (Take two) for free. We still got to see his face though! Check it out!!

This is the only picture that we are not sure about. I'm usually pretty good at reading these ultrasound pictures, but this one stumps us. We think its his legs and just reassuring us that it is a boy. Not sure though.... =)

29 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights of Week 29:

Maternity Clothes: Anything stretchy and comfortable. Love my yoga pants and tops.

Best Moment this week: Getting our glider and ottoman in that we ordered.

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: All the time! Love it! Its such a neat feeling.

Food Craving: Strawberries and chocolate sauce still!

What I miss: Being able to sleep on my back.

Sleep: I am starting to toss and turn more now. One leg will start to go numb and tingle so I flip to the other side, That helps for a minute or two then it comes back, so I flop to the other side. But it doesn't start until about 2 o'clock in the morning.

What I am looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment.

Belly Button: IN

Symptoms: My legs falling going numb and having RLS! ugh!

Your baby's the size of a squash!
Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, he weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but he's still got a ways to go -- can you believe he'll triple in weight before birth?

28 Weeks Preggo

28 Weeks (Month 7) Starting 3rd Trimester!!!

Maternity Clothes: Yes, I finally bought some maternity jeans about a week ago. Much better than my jeans I was wearing.

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Mostly early in the morning when I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home from work. He doesn't move around that much when I am working, I guess because I'm constantly moving.

Food Craving: Strawberries with Chocolate sauce! Yum!

What I miss: Being able to take a HOT shower!

Sleep: doing well in this department. I only get up to use the bathroom once a night, if that.

What I am looking forward to: Doing our 4D Ultrasound!!

Belly Button: IN- and I hope it stays there!

Symptoms: None really

Your baby is the size of a Chinese Cabbage. Putting on layers of fat, your baby now weighs in around 1.5 to 2.5 pounds and measures about 13.6 to 14.8 inches.
He's starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
His lungs are mature enough that he'd probably survive if he was born now.

A Wall of a Different Color!

BEFORE:

I cant even begin to explain what a process it was to get the whole room taped and painted, due to all of the chair railing on the bottom. It looks GREAT now that we are done and I can look back, but it was quite a job. Thanks to future daddy and my mom!

DURING:

AFTER:

It may be hard to tell, but the bottom part of the chair railing is actually a shade darker than the top. Putting the darker color on the bottom is said to draw your eye upwards. (Little painting tip I picked up). The colors match his bedding perfectly! It took some getting used to because it looked very bright when it first hit the walls. But now I am just IN LOVE with it. I just love color!

27 Weeks

I went to the doctor this week for my regular check-up plus my glucose screening. It was rough from the get go that morning before my appointment. All I had to eat was 2 pieces of cheese toast and some water. Anybody who knows me, knows that OJ is a must have thing for me. I LOVE it and can never get enough. Unfortunately that is one of the things I could not have, obviously, before my test. It was very hard to resist when I opened that fridge door for the cheese. =) I was a good girl and said no! I got to the doctor's office and they gave me a very sugary orange drink. Alot like a thicker Sunkist to me. I didn't think that it was bad at all. I was glad that my mom was able to go with me to help the time pass while we waited for that hour. Also while we waited, they put us in a room to see my OBGYN.

Easton and I are still right on target! I'm measuring where I should be and his HR was in the 150s. (after that drink he was jumping around all over the place). The other good thing is that I PASSED! No gestational diabetes for me! However when they called to tell me my results they also told me that my blood count was a little low and that I would need to start on an Iron pill. So far I haven't really had any of the side affects that come with taking Iron supplements.

This is the last week for my 2nd trimester! Its SO hard to believe that we are moving in to the last phase of pregnancy. WOW!

In this week, my baby weighs almost 2 pounds!! Like a head of Cauliflower. And is about 14 1/2 inches long with legs extended.

He's practicing inhaling and exhaling with his rapidly developing lungs.
It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And his brain will keep on getting more complex.

His Bedding

When it came to Easton's bedding I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted. As I started to look there weren't very many themed crib sets and rooms that I wanted to go with. So my next option was to go with patterned bedding. My one stipulation with any bedding that I picked was that I wanted it to have lots of color to it. While I do think that the pale blues and creams are very sweet, I knew I wanted something with brighter colors. I really LOVE lots of color in the stuff that I do. The bedding that I fell in love with was this one. (This first picture is a little blurry.)

The colors are turquoise, lime green, brown, yellow, navy, and white with paisley. Quite an array of colors. I do just love how bright it is.

Its hard to see, but the inside of the bumpers is green and white gingham. And the crib sheet is brown with cream polka dots.

All washed, clean, and ready for a baby!! It wont be empty for too much longer. =)

26 Weeks!

At 26 Weeks he is the length of an english hothouse cucumber! (who comes up with these comparisons? haha!)
His eyes are forming, and his eyes will soon start to open.
And his eyelashes are now grown, too.
He's getting his immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
He's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.

A Bed for Easton!

I ordered his bed online from JCPenny. Kevin and I went and picked it up the Sunday it came in. We couldn't wait to put it together. So much so that we put it together before we even painted the room. Kevin is so good at being a handy man. I hope Easton takes after his Dad with putting things together. These are a couple of pictures I took of him putting the bed together.

Here is the finished product!! Isn't it beautiful?? The hubby/future Daddy did a wonderful job! Now just to get a mattress and put the bedding on and this baby boy has a place to sleep. (Yes, I'm sure you noticed that the walls are a different color in this picture. I didn't get a finished pic of the bed before we painted.)

25 Weeks

Here we are at 25 Weeks! Happy Halloween! I hadn't really thought about what I would wear, if anything, for Halloween. One of my friends, and coworker, had texted me a picture of this shirt and when I saw it I knew I HAD to have it! So for this year I was a skeleton. A pregnant skeleton that is. =). I'm just in love with how cute this shirt is!! Hopefully ill be able to wear it again someday. (Assuming it fits.)

Your baby's the size of an eggplant!

He's enjoying his new sense of equilibrium -- he now knows which way is up and which is down.
He's growing more fat and more hair too!

24 Weeks

24 Weeks!! (M0nth 6)! Somehow I forgot week 23.

Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week he gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.
His see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.

22 Weeks

Your baby's the size of a papaya!

Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).
