Christmas Day 2012

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.    ISAIAH 9:6-7

Let us not forget what this day is all about!

That morning when Easton woke up, I told him that Santa Claus had come to visit him!  Of course this is more of my excitement than his considering he is only 11 months old.  =)

Waiting on Easton so that they can open their presents!

After having our first morning family Christmas at our house it was on to the next....For lunch we headed to Kevin's Aunts house to spend time with his side of the family.

Uncle Kevin and Caroline

All of the Crooks men.  (Great picture!)

Father and Sons

Our little family! (Minus the dogs)
Our last stop of the day was my parents house.  We did a little shuffling with the Christmas schedule this year.  We usually see my family in the morning and then are at our own house for dinner.  But since having a baby I thought it would be best if we swapped it so that E could have time to open and play with his toys.  Another tradition was that at the parents house for Christmas morning, ever since I was little, my mom and I would make a HUGE breakfast.  Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, orange rolls, monkey bread, the works!  So since we wouldn't be seeing them for Christmas morning anymore we decided to flip flop and keep the big breakfast but eat it for dinner!  I loved the idea and its such a neat tradition!

Just a little of the yummyness.

By the end of the day my camera wasn't attached to my hip like it had been that morning, so there are really no pictures of Easton at my parents house.  The best thing to him was this cardboard box!  Of course! Easton had so much fun all day on his first Christmas!  It can only get better from here! We hope you had a Merry Christmas!
For this is the Day that the Lord has Made!

Christmas Eve 2012

I know I'm a little behind with my blogging, but I'm trying to catch up! =)
On Christmas Eve, even before we were married, would always go to Kevin's parents house.  We eat dinner and do presents.  They have always opened their presents on Christmas Eve.  It actually works best for our crazy Christmas schedule! They open gifts from youngest to oldest, so this year Easton was number 1!
MiMi let Easton open 1 present before everyone got to the house so that he would have something to play with.  It was....
The Fisher Price walking/ride talking dog!
                                                                   He LOVED it!
Jeff, April, Jake, and Caroline.  (Kevin's brother and family)
All 3 grand kids in their Christmas outfits before dinner.
They all changed into PJ's after dinner for present opening!  Next year maybe we can coordinate and get the same ones.  =)

Uncle Jeff, Aunt April, Jake and Caroline got E this huge dump truck!  He loved it! Its so big he can ride in it.  But he loves to push it around.  He spent the rest of the night changing up between the truck and the fisher price dog.
Caroline and her stuffed Giraffe.  She used to call it a "Bdraffe" but sadly that has stopped now.  It was SO darn cute!
Jake loves him some Under Armor!

Kevin's mom and dad got Jeff and Kevin these hunting rifles.  They first gave them a box, each, that had a toy laser gun inside them.  They were both wondering why in the world they were getting laser guns as presents.  Then Tommy came out with the real deal!  They are so happy and look like true kids on Christmas Day!

Happy Birthday Easton!

Blowing a kiss!

Sooo Big!
I couldn't let the day go by without doing a simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY blog post!  Here is our little man at 1 YEAR OLD! Today, mommy and daddy had to work so E went to daycare.  We took cupcakes for Easton and all his friends to enjoy!  I made him the onesie he is wearing with just an iron-on.  I felt like he needed something 'birthday-ish" to wear for the day.  After daycare and work we came home and E and I took a short nap on the couch together.  Kevin, E and I decided to go out to dinner.  We went to O'Charleys where Easton was treated to free mashed potatoes and a free ice cream with chocolate syrup.  Needless to say he loved them both.  He gobbled up the ice cream (no brainer..).  There are more blog posts to come but I just had to post about our baby boy turning ONE!!!  We Love You more and more every day! I hope you have had The BEST first birthday Angel!

Easton at 11 Months

I'm a little behind on this....Ive been in a blogging slum lately and my blogger has been acting up.  On 12/24/12 our little man turned 11 months old! Taking still pictures, with this little mover, is getting harder and harder. =)

Weight: 18 Pounds
Height: not sure
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes 9-12 months

E at 11 Months he is:
-Eating a whole lot more food than he was.  The other day he ate a whole ham and cheese sandwich and a whole container of mandarin oranges and 2 arrowroot cookies.  I think mandarin oranges are definitely one of his favorite foods.
-When he is eating now he reaches over his highchair at the dogs.  Usually its either to pet them or to throw food over the side of the chair.  The dogs are loving it....me, not so much! =)
-Can find my nose and eyes when asked where they are.  We are working on mouth.
-He will now offer me a bite of what he is eating or a toy that he is playing with.
-Definitely likes to snuggle more now.  I love this!
-He really loves to wallow in the sheets.  Especially when he is naked and getting into or out of the tub.  He crawls all over the bed laughing and burying his little face into the covers.  SO cute!
-We now have a stair climber!  We haven't had a baby gate on the stairs until just now.  I was eating lunch one day and he was playing by himself, all of a sudden I turned around and he was up 2 stairs!! I couldn't believe it.  Now he likes to pull up to the baby gate and shake it. Silly boy!
-He loves all of the push and walk toys that he got for Christmas! He is constantly on the move with those toys.
-Pointing is a big thing lately too.  As soon as I get him out of his crib in the morning or pick him up from daycare he is pointing at things and waiting for me to tell him what they are.
-He will stand, very briefly, by himself for a second or two.  No movement yet though.
-He is still eating almost every single thing I put in front of him.  So glad!  If he rejects something one day then I usually just wait a day or two and offer it again and he will usually eat it up. =)
-We are getting more and more teeth too.  He now has 4 teeth.  Two on the top and two on the bottom.
You grow and learn so much every day! We love you so much E! I CANT BELIEVE YOU ARE 11 MONTHS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!

Meeting Santa!

Meeting "The Big Guy" this year was very interesting.  Easton's daycare was having Santa come to the daycare for pictures with the older kids across the street.  They are not allowed to take kids to other buildings so on my lunch break I took our little man to meet the big guy.  I had a hunch it would turn out this way, but wasn't sure.

Easton,
I know we will look back on these pictures and laugh!  ;)

I cant quite tell in this one if he is crying at Santa or telling him what he wants for Christmas.  I'm sure its not the second one! =)  He did good until he sat on his lap.  He cried immediately.  After his first picture he looked up, and Santa looked down and him, and then....more tears!  I hope this has put a smile on your face today.  It did mine!  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Card Photo Shoot!

One of my girlfriends from work loves photography and is very good at it! I asked if she wanted the daunting task of taking some family pictures for our Christmas card. She did Awesome! These are just a few of the good ones! Thanks Cassie!
