Easton at 12 Months!!

Its crazy to me to think that he is no longer a baby, but a TODDLER!

Well.....Our little 1 YEAR OLD is:
-Blows kisses and makes the *muah sound (the cutest thing EVER!)
-Says "Dods" (dogs) all the time and is constantly pointing at them and saying it.  Among other words like: DaDa, MaMa, Bye Bye, and Uh Oh.
-Lately he will pick up and dog toy and take it to Wriggley and "tug" with him.  When Wriggs pulls it from Eastons hands he thinks that is so funny!
-Will find my eyes and nose if I ask him where they are.
-He pooches his lips out like he is kissing.
-He may take a few steps but he isn't truly walking around just yet.
-Although he is climbing on EVERYTHING.  The fireplace, his toys, the dogs, us, he would climb the stairs if it wasn't for the baby gate.  Little Monkey! =)
-He also seems to pick up on how things work so quickly these days.  You show him how it works or how he is suppose to do it and he figures it out.  Amazing.
-We have 6 teeth now!! Two on the top and four on the bottom.
-Still an awesome little eater.  His least favorite would be chunks of meat.  I have to cut them up small for him to eat them.  Also his new thing is to eat something, spit it into his fingers to look at it, then eat it again!  Yuk!
-To be so small he has a big appetite.  The other day he ate a whole ham and cheese sandwich, a whole cup of mandarin oranges (his fav) and 2 cookies! I don't know where he puts it!
-His newest thing is that whenever he is hungry, or if he sees one of us eating something, he will open and close his mouth repeatedly like a little bird. 
-Plays well by himself.  He has a living room full of toys and there will be times when he will just crawl over to the pile and toys and play by himself for 30 min or so. 
-Loves his Daddy, G, and MiMi! He gets all gitty every time he sees them!

This has been the most wonderful, crazy, eye-opening, life changing, happy, and most amazing year of our lives!  Mommy and Daddy love you more and more each day.  Sometimes I wonder how that is even possible, but somehow we do!  I cannot wait to watch you grow into a little man and get to experience things through you.  We love you SO much Easton Thomas Crooks! I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE 1. YEAR. OLD.!!!

Sooo Big!

 I couldn't let the day go by without doing a simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY blog post!  Here is our little man at 1 YEAR OLD! Today, mommy and daddy had to work so E went to daycare.  We took cupcakes for Easton and all his friends to enjoy!  I made him the onesie he is wearing with just an iron-on.  I felt like he needed something 'birthday-ish" to wear for the day.  After daycare and work we came home and E and I took a short nap on the couch together.  Kevin, E and I decided to go out to dinner.  We went to O'Charleys where Easton was treated to free mashed potatoes and a free ice cream with chocolate syrup.  Needless to say he loved them both.  He gobbled up the ice cream (no brainer..).  There are more blog posts to come but I just had to post about our baby boy turning ONE!!!  We Love You more and more every day! I hope you have had The BEST first birthday Angel!    

Easton at 11 Months

I'm a little behind on this....Ive been in a blogging slum lately and my blogger has been acting up.  On 12/24/12 our little man turned 11 months old! Taking still pictures, with this little mover, is getting harder and harder. =)

Diapers: Size 3
Clothes 9-12 months

E at 11 Months he is:

-Eating a whole lot more food than he was.  The other day he ate a whole ham and cheese sandwich and a whole container of mandarin oranges and 2 arrowroot cookies.  I think mandarin oranges are definitely one of his favorite foods.

-When he is eating now he reaches over his highchair at the dogs.  Usually its either to pet them or to throw food over the side of the chair.  The dogs are loving it....me, not so much! =)

-Can find my nose and eyes when asked where they are.  We are working on mouth.

-He will now offer me a bite of what he is eating or a toy that he is playing with.

-Definitely likes to snuggle more now.  I love this!

-He really loves to wallow in the sheets.  Especially when he is naked and getting into or out of the tub.  He crawls all over the bed laughing and burying his little face into the covers.  SO cute!

-We now have a stair climber!  We haven't had a baby gate on the stairs until just now.  I was eating lunch one day and he was playing by himself, all of a sudden I turned around and he was up 2 stairs!! I couldn't believe it.  Now he likes to pull up to the baby gate and shake it. Silly boy!

-He loves all of the push and walk toys that he got for Christmas! He is constantly on the move with those toys.

-Pointing is a big thing lately too.  As soon as I get him out of his crib in the morning or pick him up from daycare he is pointing at things and waiting for me to tell him what they are.

-He will stand, very briefly, by himself for a second or two.  No movement yet though.

-He is still eating almost every single thing I put in front of him.  So glad!  If he rejects something one day then I usually just wait a day or two and offer it again and he will usually eat it up. =)

-We are getting more and more teeth too.  He now has 4 teeth.  Two on the top and two on the bottom. 

You grow and learn so much every day! We love you so much E! I CANT BELIEVE YOU ARE 11 MONTHS OLD!!!!!!!!!!! 

Easton at 10 Months

Well we are into double digits!  My little man is quickly closing the gap to the big 1!! Ahh!! (sorry mini freak out)

Clothes: 6-9 months and maybe a few 9-12



Here is what our little man has been up to lately:

-Well since the last post E is now "cruising" (walking while holding onto things)
- His favorite thing while we are in my bedroom is to crawl to the tub, pull up, and turn the water on and off, on and off, on and off! He thinks its so funny.
-His naps are a little longer now.  When he was 3 or 4 months old he would take 30-45 min naps every 2 hours.  Now he takes about two 2 hour naps. (sometimes)
-He is very ticklish everywhere
-His new love is The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!  He loves to watch the whole gang sing and dance.  Especially at the end when they do the "hot dog" dance.
-He can now put his paci in by himself.  He will crawl to go get it and turn it around and put it in his mouth.  So Smart!
-Loves his sippy cups.  Especially with the Apple/Carrot juice in it.  He did have some sweet tea the other day and really liked that!
-His words right now are dada, mama (sometimes), bye bye, and what I think is dog.  I think his first real words were bye bye though.
-He, now, mimics my fake cough! This is too cute!  The other day he was mimicking the dogs barking too.
-Has 3 1/2 teeth.  2 on the bottom, 1 on the top and another one on the top coming in.
-I have started to skip at bottle every now and then so that when it comes time to wean he will be ok with it.  So far he doesn't even notice that I have skipped it.  Especially now that he is eating 3 meals a day and a snack or two.
-Still my GREAT little eater and sleeper!
Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back baby boy! You bring so much joy to our lives! I cant believe you are 10 Months Old!!!

Easton at 9 Months

My little Spout continues to grow.... sigh... So here we are at 9 months!!!

My Man:
-Bumps his bottom up and down off the floor when he is listening to music and claps! TOO CUTE!
-Has started CRAWLING!! He keeps his left leg bent when we crawls.  I was worried about it at first but that is also the leg that he ends up sitting on when we wants to stop.  So I guess he is just staying one step ahead of himself to keep it bent.
-He is also pulling up on E.VER.Y. THING! He will just stand and only hold on with one hand. (the little dare devil =) )  It makes me a nervous wreck sometimes that he is so brave about it.
-Because of the fluid in his ears that wouldn't go away....he had tubes placed in both ears on October 17th.  Dr. M said that it would just continue to cause ear infections so long as that fluid stayed in the ear.  So tubes was our answer.  It was a very easy procedure and he was at home and playing by 11 am.  Amazing!
-Waves bye  bye sometimes.  It will be at random things and not necessarily when someone leaves.  I swear there are times when he actually says the words "bye bye!"  But we will see...
-Still a great sleeper!  He goes to bed about 8:30pm
-He has 2 new teeth coming in on the top.
-Eating is still very good for now.  He has 6-7 oz bottles 5 times a day.  He eats oatmeal, waffles, cheese toast, or whatever they are having at daycare for breakfast. (and loves it!)  Then for lunch he eats almost anything you will offer him.  He likes chili, salisbury steak, and most anything with turkey.  They serve such a wide variety at daycare (which is awesome) and he eats it all!  Then he has 1-2 snacks during the day.  We have started eating 3 meals a day now.  So now he gets another meal around 6:30pm or so.  My little man also loves all sorts of juices. 
I am so proud of my little Spout. He makes us so happy! We Love you E! I cant believe you are 9 Months old!!!!
   

Easton at 8 Months

Well I guess its that time of the month again....time to blog about how much older my little Sprout is getting.  This little man is the light of my day!  He is so happy all the time and just an all around Joy!  He's always making me smile and laugh.  Hes getting so big and I cant believe that I will be thinking about a 1st birthday party soon....Ive actually already thought of what the theme will be!  AHH (freaking out)!

Height: 27 inches
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes: Size 6-9 and some 3-6 still fit
Blonde Hair and Blue eyes! (The light in his room makes it look red for some reason)



My little Sprout:
-Loves to clap his hands.  He started this right after he turned 7 months old.  Sometimes when we sing "If you're happy and you know it" he will start clapping.  He's so smart!
-Can eat bananas that are cut up, real cheese puffs, and peas among other adult foods.
-Loves his Gerber puffs and little crunchies! I haven't found a flavor he didn't like.
-Sticks his tongue out and spits.  Its cute!....for now.
-Loves to talk and scream when happy and playing.  He has lots more sounds when he is "talking."  I can hear S, R, and M's instead of just Da Da.  So amazing to sit and just listen to him. 
-Now that E is an expert roller, he sleeps on his tummy alot at night now.
-Moved to fast flow nipples.  He drinks 6-7 oz every 5-6 times a day.  He has a container of fruit with oatmeal, cereal or granola for breakfast and a container of a vegetable for lunch.  Then he has a snack about mid afternoon.  Depending on what they are having for breakfast and lunch at daycare depends on whether or not he eats baby food or adult food at meal times. He liked the avacado he tried too.  I love my good little eater! Keep it up buddy.
-Still only the 2 teeth.
-Great Sleeper!!
-Gets up on his knees and rocks back and forth but has yet to move forward and actually crawl.  However he is very good at crawling backwards.  This frustrates him sometimes.
-I reluctantly lowered his crib mattress all the way to the bottom level. =(  He will be pulling up in no time.  He didn't seem to notice the change.  Boy mommy sure did...
-He never completely got over his 2nd double ear infection.  We went through 10 days of Amoxicillin, 10 days of Omnicef, and 3 Rocephin shots....The Rocephin finally cleared up the pus in his ears but there is still so much fluid that it could turn into another ear infection at any time per Dr. M.  So Easton will be headed to an appointment with an ENT to talk about tubes.   Hopefully this whole process will go smoothly.
Our little Sprout is really growing growing.....

I cant believe you are 8 Months Old!!

Easton at 7 Months

Well, my little man is on the downhill slope to 1! =( Say it ain't so!! He has really become even more "animated" in the last month.  Now that he can sit up well on his own and entertain himself  it makes life just a little bit easier.  I love watching him learn new things and soak up new information about his surroundings.  He's so observant and alert about everything.  He really is just THE BEST baby!  Good pictures, as you can see, are getting harder and harder to come by.  His outfit in this picture is something special.  This is actually the onesie that Kevin and I bought when we first found out that we were having a boy.  I almost waited to late to put him in it because its a little snug. =) I love this little munchkin more than words can describe!!

Easton Lately:
-Still babbling all the time.  Of course its still da da da da.  And it varies in pitch and volume.  SO CUTE!
-Grunting and roaring while hes playing
- Has TWO teeth now.  (the two bottom ones)
-Still my great little sleeper.  He goes to bed at 8:30pm and wakes up at about 7:30-8am.
-Eats 6-7 ounces about 5-6 times a day.  He also eats a 4oz container of baby food for breakfast and another 4oz container for lunch.  I still have yet to find anything he doesn't like.  =) hopefully this good eating streak will continue. 
-Uses a highchair at home and daycare
-Really likes to snuggle now.  He will lay his head on your shoulder if hes tired or if he just got up from a nap.
-He will reach out his arms when I'm walking over to pick him up.
-Had his second double ear infection. =(
-LOVES his Sophie Giraffe!!!
-Has really started to like his Aden & Anais blankets and loves to rub his face in them.  We got them as a gift, and I think they are swaddle blankets, but work great for nap time.  They are super soft and thin.  I'm hoping he will get attached to them.  (especially because one has elephants on it. RTR)  ;)
-Bumps his little hiney up and down on the ground like hes feeling the beat. Its pretty cute!
-Started straightening his legs while sitting up (instead of keeping his feet together).

Easton at 6 Months

How does time pass so quickly right in front of our eyes?!  I'm still in denial that our baby boy is 6 months old!! He is a Love, and he continues to amaze and make me smile every single day!  So what has my 6 month (ahh!) boy been up to:

He now sleeps unswaddled completely.  It was, what seemed like, a delicate process but worked out great and hes loving it.  He usually sleeps on his side now that he isn't swaddled.  Another thing we've done was getting him to put himself to sleep at night.  He was almost 6 months old and didn't know how.  So I thought it my mission to help him.  In the book I'm reading (yes I know its shocking...I'm not a big reader) it talked about the Ferber Method of getting them to sleep on their own.  It said to lay them down when they are tired but awake and if they begin to cry wait 5 min before entering the room again.  Talk to them for a second then leave and if still crying wait 10 min, then 15 min before entering again.  Well I thought for sure that this was going to be an awful night.  He did Awesome!  I layed him down and he cried for 4 minutes!  Then went to sleep and didn't wake up until 7 the next morning!  He had done so much better than I expected.  And from then on he has been putting himself to sleep every night with no troubles.  =0).  Yay E!

 Lately:

-His sleep habits are great!  I put him to bed at 8:30pm and he sleeps until 6 or 7am. 

-He LOVES his solid foods.  He has tried green beans, peaches, bananas, peas, sweet potatoes, applesauce, and pears.  I haven't found anything he doesn't like! =)

-Babbles and "talks" even more and its much louder.  He babbles "da da da da" while he plays.  Of course I'm sitting next to him saying "ma ma ma ma"

-He is a complete sitter now! Its so amazing how quickly he picks up on things because in my phone I write down the new things he does so that I can blog about them. It started out at the beginning saying "sits well with minimal support" and now, at the end of the month, says "doesn't need any support to sit."  Of course when he gets too excited he topples sideways, but he will master that.

-Still loves to stare at Kevin

-Shakes his toys all over the place.  Then throws them down to watch Mommy and Daddy go get them. 

-Laughs without even being talked to.  He just laughs at the dogs and all their silliness. 

-The white noise can still settle him into a nap.

-Grunts alot now.  So cute!

-His car riding has gotten MUCH better!

-Gives a good belly laugh now. 

-Has tried and likes his sippy cup

-He has his FIRST TOOTH!!  I wasn't sure if he had been teething or not but I guess he has been.

-Loves his paci but doesn't have to have it all the time.  Only likes it at nap time.

I feel like my little man grows so much in personality every single day and I am totally amazed by him!

We love you SO much Easton!! I Absolutely cannot believe you are 6 Months Old!!!

Easton at 5 Months!

Gosh, is our baby boy 5 months old already?! He is such a love and brings SO much happiness into our lives!  He has been a busy boy lately.  He had been starting on some solids (which he loves), started weaning off the swaddle blanket =(, and trying to sit up.  I hate that I am having to start taking him off the swaddle blanket because that only means he is starting to grow up.  He had started trying to roll to his side and tummy to sleep and so he can no longer be swaddled.  So we are starting with just 1 arm swaddled for a week, then both arms out for 1 week and then we will try him without it completely.  Wish us happy sleep prayers....=)  So far with his solids he has had cereal and squash.  He LOVES them both! I cant wait to start trying even more.  Its so much fun watching him experience these new and different flavors.  He also is working to try and sit up.  I can tell because he would rather be playing and using toys that keep him upright instead of lying down. 

Weight: 13 1/2 to 14 pounds
Diapers: Size 1-2
Clothes: 0-3 some still fit and some 3-6 starting to fit! YAY!

LATELY:
- Eats 5-6 ounces every 3 hours.
- Eats cereal after his 9 oclock bottle and loves it! (tried- 6/13/12)
- Has been eating a whole 2.5 oz container of squash after his 12 oclock bottle (LOVES). Tried squash-6/24/12 Soon we will try another veggie and some fruit. I cant wait!!
- He can now reach his feet to put them in his mouth (so cute!)
- He is starting to get tickelish on his thigh and under his arms.
- Has started fighting some naps.
- Love to scream when hes playing and make his little man noises.
- Laughs a lot now. Especially if you surprise him and say Boo! Its so adorable and as long as he laughs I will continue to do it just to hear him.
- Prefers more upright toys like his walker or bumbo.
- Recently he has decided that he likes being sung to. I sing the goofiest songs but he doesnt care. He gets real quiet just to listen and just smiles.
- Have started to wean off the swaddle blanket.
- Now rubs his eyes when he is tired.
- Sleep: Lately he has been waking up at least once, sometimes twice, in the middle of the night. But then there are some nights where he does sleep through the night like he usually does. I just go upstairs and give him his paci and he's good. Im not sure if it is a growth spurt or if he is teething. I feel some nights like I have a newborn again. I was spoiled from the beginning because he was such a good sleeper.
- Im not sure if he is teething or not. There are some things he does that make me belive that he is and then sometimes I wonder.
- He is so strong. He is always trying to lean forward to sit up.
- Also loves his wubbanub paci

Easton at 4 Months Old

Here is our baby boy at 4 months old! This little man is my Love! 

Weight: 12 Pounds
Height: 23 inches long
Diapers: Size 1
Clothes: Wearing 0-3 months. (Haven't even tried 3-6 bc I'm sure it will be huge.)



E Lately:

*Loves his play mat

*Likes being held up over your should to see whats going on around him

*Is sleeping in his crib! It was hard at first but now is a relief that I can make as much noise as I want in my own bedroom.  I feel like its my mommy time.  After I put him down I sit in the bed and read or mess around on my phone.  Who would have ever thought I would consider that relaxing. ha!

*Eating 4 oz every 3 hours

*Likes his daycare

*Sleeping 9-10 hours (8:30pm-6am)

*Still loves being swaddled.

*Loves his bumbo

*Smiles ALL the time

*Likes to Oooh and Ahh and "talk"

*LOVES grabbing and holding his feet.  They haven't made it to his mouth yet but I'm sure they will soon.

*Rolls from his stomach to his back.  And half way when rolling from back to stomach.

*Sits very well when supported.

*Putting everything in his mouth (especially his fingers)

*LOVES to kick and splash in the tub!

*Started using medium flow nipples on his bottles

*Loves to sit and stare at his daddy!

*Had his first ear infection (boo! Poor baby) =( 

This little man makes me smile every day! Kevin and I are so blessed to have such a healthy baby boy!

Easton at 3 Months Old

Our little man at 3 months old! Where does the time go? I have quite the busy little bug.
Lately...
   Weighs 10 Pounds 8 ounces
* He kicks ALOT.  He loves to pump those legs.  Especially when he gets excited!
*Makes bubbles
* Has been infatuated with his hands for several weeks now.  Its pretty cute.
*Loves to stand and "walk" on your legs.
*Sleeps 9 hours at night.  Love this boy!
*Eating 3-4 ounces.  And all 4 ounces most of the time.  Little Piglet. =)
*Doesn't take long naps.  His long naps are maybe an hour, if that.  He's more of a little cat napper.  Hopefully this will get better. 
*Likes laying on his back and being pulled to his feet.  Hes got great leg muscles and his head muscles and getting better and better each day. 
*He smiles all the time!  At just about anything too.  Its the best!
*We have the best conversations on his changing table.  That seems to be when he wants to talk alot.  He makes a noise at me and then I say it back to him.  This goes on for 5-10 min sometimes.  Melts my heart.
*In size 1 diapers
*Wearing 0-3 month clothes.  He actually has some newborn outfits that still fit though. 

We Love You Easton! I cant believe you are 3 Months Old!!

Easton at 2 Months Old

Here's my little man at 2 months old. He is such a love and is just the best baby!

9 Pounds 5.5 Ounces
22 1/4 Inches Long
*He is cooing even more now! Its quite possibly the best sound Ive heard in a long while. Still melts my heart.
* He is smiling more now too. And now he is actually smiling when you talk to him and make faces at him! I would talk for hours for just one good smile! So worth it.
*He is definitely staying awake for longer periods during the day.
*Eating anywhere from 2 1/2-4 ounces every 3 hours. Right now 4 ounces is only a once in a while thing.
*Sleeping about 7-9 hours!! (did I mention he was the best baby??) If he does end up waking up in the middle of the night, then hes only up for about 30 minutes to be changed and eat then back to sleep.
* He also now hits at toys when he is in his seat.
*Takes baths every other night. And is starting to enjoy them.
*Also, he LOVES to look at the fans in our house! We have one in almost every room and he finds them all.

We love you Easton! I cant believe you are 2 Months Old!

Easton at 1 Month Old

Wow so is my little boy really 1 month old?!? (2/24/12) I cant believe this. I already feel like he's growing up too fast. =( On Tuesday (2/21/12) we went by the doctor's office. We didn't have an appointment, I just wanted to see how much he weighed. He was just so small when he was born. The last weight I had on him was 6 # 2ozs on 2/7/12 when he was 2 weeks old. In just 2 short weeks, this little piglet now weighs 7# 6ozs! Wow, he has gained almost a pound and a half in 2 weeks. This is what I like to hear! This is E with his elephant "Jala."

7 Pounds 6 ounces

21 inches long

*Sleeps 3-4 hours at night. Eats, then back to sleep for 3 hours. Sometimes he teases me and sleeps for 5 hours. But its only a fluke.

*Eats 2 1/2 - 3 ounces every 3 hours during the day.

*Still napping alot during the day

*Has had periods of being awake for up to 3 hours! =) But usually just an hour and a half.

*Pretty fussy in the evenings.

*Follows objects, if moving slowly, and will make eye contact and stare at faces.

*Smiles randomly. Not necessarily at certain times.
*He has recently started cooing alot! It is just about the most adorable thing! Melts my heart! Every time he does it, I do it back to him.

I LOVE this little dimple he has on the left cheek. He got that from his daddy.


At this point he was tired of me taking pictures.

LIKES:

*Being held

*Sitting up in his boppy or on your legs to look around

*Being talked to

*His paci

*Loud noises (Hair dryer, shower running, static on radio, etc.)

*Vibrations on his bouncy seat and bassinet (May have to phase those out so that he will sleep well when he transitions to his crib upstairs.)

DISLIKES:

*Being put in his car seat

*Being naked

*Pulling clothes on & off over his head

It is amazing to watch this little man grow and change right before our eyes. I am excited to see what the future holds and for him to be able to interact with us. But I certainly do not want to wish away these months because I know I will never have them back. We Love you Easton! I cant believe you are 1 month old!!

1 Week Old

ETC @ 1 week old:

E is doing pretty well adjusting at home. Right now he has his days and nights mixed up and is wide awake at 1am! He is a pretty good eater. Though when we went to the doctor a couple of days ago E had lost down to 5# 5ozs on the 27th. He was 5# 8oz when we left the hospital. So he suggested that I supplement with formula. After doing that for 3-4 days we went back to the doctor and he had gained up to 5# 12 oz! Wow almost a half of a pound in that short amount of time.
