Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to head down to the beach for Memorial Day this year.  We left on Thursday 5/24/12 and came home 5/27/12.  This would be Easton's first trip to the beach! He was 4 months old.  Since it takes about 4 ish hours to get there we knew him sitting in a car seat for that long, awake, would not be fun.  We decided to leave at 9pm, his bedtime.  I did all that I could think of to get him relaxed.  I bathed him, then put on his PJ's, and then gave him his bottle.  I put the swaddle blanket in the car to wrap around the front of him so he would think he was swaddled in bed and sleep the whole way.  And....HE DID!!  We ran into road construction, go figure, and it took us about 5 hours to get there instead.  Once we were there, about 2am, I swaddled him for real and put him in the crib.  He went right on to sleep and slept the rest of the night.  Good Boy!  The next day we got up and sat on the porch and ate breakfast for a little while before heading outside.  I wanted E to hang out at the pool for a little while and experience the water since he LOVES the tub.  Its his first time in a pool.
 His serious face:
I just love when he gets tickled!! I could just eat him up!
All dressed and slathered with sunscreen.  Looking extra cool!

I was surprised because he was actually kind of indifferent to the water.  He didn't hate it but he didn't just absolutely love it.  I guess that will come with age.
 Little bald headed Angel!
Kevin and his brother with their kids: Jake, Caroline, and Easton.  Good picture!
I'm thinking Mommy and Daddy had more fun than E.
The next day, Kevin and I went out with his dad, brother and my nephew on a deep sea fishing journey.  Kevin's dad had bought himself a new boat and wanting to test her out.  We went fishing for several hours.  We caught our limit of 6 Amber jack, a trigger fish, and LOTS of red snapper.  Of course it wasn't snapper season so we had to let them go.  But they were whoppers!  I only have pictures on my phone and I don't know how to get them on here.  So for now you will have to believe this fishing tail! =)
On Sunday Easton woke up and was being very fussy and crying alot which was very unlike him.  He also was running a little bit of a fever.  I was thinking maybe it was just a little cold he had picked up from daycare.  Kevin had hurt his back about a week before the trip and had re injured it when trying to pick up his niece.  So he had decided he wanted to go the the American Family Care at the beach.  The rest of the family was going out on a boat ride.  I really wanted to take E on his first boat ride but decided that it would be better for me to take him to the doctor with Kevin to find out why he was so ill.  Not a very fun part of our beach trip.  The doc said that Kevin had "tweaked" his back and that E had a double ear infection!! ugh! His first ear infection and its a double one.  My poor baby!  So I was playing nurse to 2 babies.  So since we were never able to take Easton down to actually play on the beach, we just went down to take some picture before we left.  (I had to have some pictures to prove he was at the beach for the fist time.)  =)  He did very well considering he didn't feel good.
 Family photo:

The ride home took us almost 6 hours because of a wreck on the interstate! And driving in traffic with an injured husband and a sick baby is not my idea of fun.  E got restless and sick of being in the car seat.  Thank goodness for an ipad.  But overall the trip was great and very memorable!  We are hoping he will be able to enjoy his next trip even more.  Because it may be a while....=) We'll see...

4 Month Check-Up

On May 22,2012 Easton had his 4 Month Check-up.  Doctor M said he looked great! He was impressed that when he pulled on his arms to get him to sit up, that E just stood up instead.  Dr. M said that Easton was a little small for his age, but that his height and weight were proportional.  He said he thinks he might be about like Kevin.  That's perfectly fine with me so long as he is a healthy boy!  He showed Dr M how he could roll from his belly to his back too.  We are still working on rolling from back to belly.  He gets about half way and then I have to give him a nudge.  Easton got 3 vaccines. 1 Oral and 2 in the muscle.  He always does much better than me.  He cries for just a second or two.  Once I give him his paci he's good.

As soon as he was put in the car seat, he was out! Funny how its so quick when we leave the doctor's office.  It usually takes much longer for this little fellow to sack out in the car.

Meeting Sweet Savannah

On May 16, 2012 at 3:21 pm my good friend Allison and her husband Chase welcomed their 2nd little girl into the world!

Savannah Claire Williamson.
6 Pounds 10.5 ounces
20 inches long
Thankfully Mommy had a fairly easy time during labor and delivery.  I was unable to see her in the hospital due to a crazy work schedule.  So I picked a day about a week after she was born and stopped by their house for a visit.
She is beautiful!!  I couldn't believe just how small she was.  Its hard for me even now to remember how small Easton was.  Its crazy to think he was almost a whole pound smaller than SC.  I'm not really good at seeing who newborns look like but, to me, Savannah looks like her mommy.
She was napping when I arrived then woke up just in time for me to snap some cute photos.

This is Savannah's sweet big sister, Brantley Rae!  I think Savannah is one lucky girl!  Here is BR loving on SC. =)I was able to snap a picture of me and both of Allison's girls.  I had to get in the floor to do it, but that's perfectly fine with me.  I am so overjoyed for Chase and Allison! They are wonderful parents and BR and SC are some lucky girls.  Congratulations!

Thanks Pinterest!

For Mother's Day I wanted to do something special for Easton's WONDERFUL Grandmothers that he has!  So while on Pinterest about 2 months ago (don't have time lately) I found a sign that someone had made that just said "Love" with babies hand and foot prints.  I thought well then I should just add a foot at the top and make it say "I Love."  So for Mother's Day 2012 Easton's MiMi and G got this special gift from him.  He was about 3 1/2 months old.
It was fun, but also challenging, to do an art project with an almost 4 month old. Every time I would put paint on his hand he would close it. And every time I would put paint on his foot he would smear it onto his other (clean) foot. As you can see it was a mess. He had it all over Kevin and if you look closely you can see the yellow on his nose. =0) But we had lots of fun and something special to remember this time.

Play Mat

Easton has been a very busy little man over the past month so I thought it would be time for some more stimulating toys.  It turns out I have some wonderful friends.  Nikki and her son Grayson were sweet enough to let us borrow his play mat.  It has all sorts of bright colors and movable toys that hang.  It also has a pillow for tummy time and a mirror.  In this picture E was gazing at himself.  Yea, he's that cute! ;)
He does great with grabbing the toys when he swats his hands at them.  He loves to "talk" to the toys and kick his legs in excitement!  Its so much fun to watch him explore all these new objects and how his arms and legs work.
He, as you can tell by the video, just loves this mat.  Thanks Nikki and G!  We appreciate it!

The Bumbo

This is E's first time in his Bumbo seat.  He really did like it.  Its a completely different view of the world, especially when mostly all you do is lie on your back.  My mom and I were working to clean up my office space and utilize my filing cabinet, and thought E would love to try it out.  This is my favorite picture! He just has the funniest expression.  He really looks like Kevin with this face.
He worked with it for about 10-15 minutes getting the hang of it and did great! The seat pretty much swallows him whole.
 He's just too precious!

Easton at 3 Months Old

Our little man at 3 months old! Where does the time go? I have quite the busy little bug.
Lately...

* He kicks ALOT.  He loves to pump those legs.  Especially when he gets excited!
*Makes bubbles
* Has been infatuated with his hands for several weeks now.  Its pretty cute.
*Loves to stand and "walk" on your legs.
*Sleeps 9 hours at night.  Love this boy!
*Eating 3-4 ounces.  And all 4 ounces most of the time.  Little Piglet. =)
*Doesn't take long naps.  His long naps are maybe an hour, if that.  He's more of a little cat napper.  Hopefully this will get better.
*Likes laying on his back and being pulled to his feet.  Hes got great leg muscles and his head muscles and getting better and better each day.
*He smiles all the time!  At just about anything too.  Its the best!
*We have the best conversations on his changing table.  That seems to be when he wants to talk alot.  He makes a noise at me and then I say it back to him.  This goes on for 5-10 min sometimes.  Melts my heart.
*In size 1 diapers
*Wearing 0-3 month clothes.  He actually has some newborn outfits that still fit though.
We Love You Easton! I cant believe you are 3 Months Old!!

Bye Bye Bassinet

Well, my little man is growing; growing too long for his bassinet. Here he is in it. (He is still sleeping in the pack n' play next to our bed because his crib is all the way up stairs and I'm not ready for that step yet.) His legs are too long, and when he wakes up, his legs are bent because he doesn't fit. He cant stretch out in it. So I decided its time to get rid of the bassinet and let him sleep in the flat part of the pack n' play. We raised the mattress up and put on a sheet. I was worried that because the bassinet cradles and hugs him he wouldn't do well on the flat part with nothing around him.

His first night was 4/7/12. For his first night, he slept like a champ! He slept 5 hours (compared to his usual 7-8). I gave him a bottle and he went right back to sleep and didn't get up until 6. Total about 9 hours. I was so proud of him. I was expecting a rough night and it wasn't bad at all. After that first night he went back to sleeping his normal routine. It never even phased him! I LOVE this little man!

Easter

On 4/8/12 was Easton's first Easter! We went to my Uncle's house for a family lunch. He was a little young to be hunting the Easter eggs this year. But watch out, because this time next year he will be walking! (ok... lets not talk about that. =( ) Here is our Easter family photo.

Uncle John and E:

What an exhaustingly, wonderful day! Its hard being cute and being held by everyone.

Earlier that week, my mom and I took Easton to meet the Easter Bunny. It just so happened that he was suppose to be stopping by my sister-in-laws house that day. My niece, Caroline, was having her class party at their house. Everyone was there except Jeff. I'm not sure where he was, probably working. ;0)

He did so good with the Easter bunny. Next year might be a different story.

Here are all of MiMi's (my mother in law) grandchildren. Jake, Easton, and Caroline! I Love this picture! It was a beautiful day, that the Lord had made.

2 Month Check Up

On 3/27/2012 was Easton's first real doctor's appointment. Since he is 8, well 9, weeks old that means he had to get shots. =( He was SO good. We had to wait a little while for the doctor to come in. While we waited, he stared at the picture of Snoopy on the wall and "talked" and kicked around. Dr. McCown came in to check him out and said he looked great and was right where he should be. Of course after that, the nurses came back in and had to give him shots. There were 4. The good thing was that one of them was oral. But the others were not. He got 3 shots in his little thighs. They did 2 at the same time then gave him the third. His face turned SO red, before he let out his cry. (and just because he is smaller doesn't mean he cant wale). But he was easy to settle down. I just gave him his paci and held him and it was all over in about 15 seconds. Which made me feel better. Its hard to see your baby cry in pain. I went ahead and gave him infant Tylenol to head off anything that would arise. He did run a small fever. I didn't check it but his head was warm and he had the chills. =( He didn't eat much that night either. But he slept good and was bright and ready to go the next morning!

Weight...... 9 Pounds 5.5 Ounces

-Being talked to

-Sitting up and looking around

-Being held

-Being swaddled at night time

-Getting out of the bath tub. (its chilly)

-As odd as this sounds, he doesn't always love riding in the car. Most babies fall asleep, but not my little man. (Well with the exception of after getting shots-see this pic below)

Here is E after he got his shots at the doctors office. He didn't even wait until we left the parking lot to conk out. Love him!!

Easton at 2 Months Old

Here's my little man at 2 months old. He is such a love and is just the best baby!

9 Pounds 5.5 Ounces
22 1/4 Inches Long
*He is cooing even more now! Its quite possibly the best sound Ive heard in a long while. Still melts my heart.
* He is smiling more now too. And now he is actually smiling when you talk to him and make faces at him! I would talk for hours for just one good smile! So worth it.
*He is definitely staying awake for longer periods during the day.
*Eating anywhere from 2 1/2-4 ounces every 3 hours. Right now 4 ounces is only a once in a while thing.
*Sleeping about 7-9 hours!! (did I mention he was the best baby??) If he does end up waking up in the middle of the night, then hes only up for about 30 minutes to be changed and eat then back to sleep.
* He also now hits at toys when he is in his seat.
*Takes baths every other night. And is starting to enjoy them.
*Also, he LOVES to look at the fans in our house! We have one in almost every room and he finds them all.

We love you Easton! I cant believe you are 2 Months Old!
